This page is for beauty and inspiration – poems, prayers and quotes that bring guidance, joy and peace. It can also be a place to share sutras, chants and verses that we find meaningful and uplifting. I look forward to sharing some of my favorites with you and reading your contributions. Just add your inspirational passage as a comment below, and I will add it to this page.
Fear is the cheapest room in the house
I would like to see you living
In better conditions,
For your mother and my mother
Were friends.
I know the Innkeeper
In this part of the universe.
Get some rest tonight,
Come to my verse again tomorrow.
We’ll go speak to the Friend together.
I should not make any promises right now,
But I know if you
Pray
Somewhere in this world—
Something good will happen….

I used to live in
A cramped house with confusion
And pain.
But then I met the Friend
And started getting drunk
And singing all
Night.
Confusion and pain
Started acting nasty,
Making threats,
With talk like this,
“If you don’t stop ‘that’—
All that fun–
We’re Leaving.”
Even after all this time
The sun never says to the earth,
“You owe Me.”
Look what happens
with a love like that,
It lights the Whole Sky.

Hi, Karen (and Cliff) – thanks for sharing your healing journey in the blog. I trust you are continuing to feel stronger. This is a recent meditation mantra I use:
Relax the mind
Open the heart
Allow more space in the body (or healing)
Invite stillness
Welcome peace
With a grateful heart, Kathy
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
There is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
The world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
doesn’t make any sense.
